Getting the word out
« on: February 23, 2011, 06:44:58 PM »
Well, I know it is extremely early but, I have been posting a bit about LOS, Clark's statement about the potential release this year and links to this website (was including the Yahoo site until the official announce about this being the official forum site. ;) )

I figure that by doing so would;
1) maybe help bring back some of the old players who would occasionally type LOS, Legions of Steel, into a search engine to just to see what is out there (I figure the more hits that a search engine finds the more interest it could generate)
2) maybe catch the eye of new, never heard of the game players who might be looking for a miniature game (or at the least a back story) that is different, yet easy to play and understand
3) Heck, I really like the game, And I want to see it back, so if figure, I might as well try and generate more interest in it. ;)

No suggestions or nudges, just thought I would inform you of what little I am doing unofficially to help

BRING LOS BACK to life.

Which is how I found out about this forum (thanks, Dave  ;)). Never heard of the Yahoo! group, and I'm not a big fan of those.

One t
Hing that I note is that we have not had any new members since the 14th. I am wondering if one of the anti-spam measures that have been activated re causing problems wi registration...  I cn register a new user from my computer but it worries me that no one else has come in...

Let me know if you hear of any issues with registration.

I posted the url over on BGG, so I would expect that to draw at least some traffic. I'll make an announcement pointing it out. Haven't heard of any registration problems.
Best Regards,

I posted on SPICA forum, SFRPG forum and TravellerRPG forum.

I don't hang out at any miniature game based forums (if any exist?).

I think it will be slow in the beginning but once some rules, art work and stories start getting posted, I think we can gain a few more (before the game is actually released again. :)

On that note, I should probably post on The Miniatures Page, too...

TMP is a great spot to advertise - Demian Rose would always make announcements there for Defiance [see mj12games] and got some extra traffic because of it.
I hate people generally, but I like them specifically - John Malkovich

Okay, I've posted us at both The Miniatures Page and Board Game Geek...I think we've already started to see a few more people trickle in...

Anyone know anywhere else we can mention this site's existence?
Best Regards,
Bobloblah

GAMA Trade Show:
March 14–18, 2011, Bally's, Las Vegas, Nevada

This would be a good place to make the announcement.
Talk with some distributors, some retailers and possibly some other manufacturers.

I met up with Tom Frank this weekend at Hotlead in Stratford, he mentioned that making a LoS site on facebook would be a great idea and i agree!
Also, for anyone in the Ontario area... Council Fires and Migs in October, both great places to pick up mini's and such. I saw a bit of LoS stuff in the 'bring and buy'... on that note, if anyone is looking for LoS stuff, just msg me!

Interestingly enough, there appears to be a heavy/death metal group called "Legions of Steel"

I'll set up a FB group and make Clark et al admins of it... but it won't let me do it until I have at least 2-3 names to create the group with. I need a few people to send me a FB friend request so I can pre-join them to the group.
